The services for these programs are maintained by volunteers, who may or may not be a breast cancer survivor. Volunteers are dedicated and committed making a difference in someone’s life and health.

Our outreach efforts are focused on churches, hospitals, clinics, senior facilities, other community-based organizations. Spread the word. And welcome to wellness.

We act as a catalyst for community change, civic action and readiness by offering critical support, guidance and training to a range of nonprofit organizations, initiatives, foundations, government agencies and social entrepreneurs with innovative ideas for building communities.

We work to recognize, invest in and celebrate the critical role individuals and groups play in achieving a just, vibrant civil society.

sisters is dedicated to providing a supportive and nurturing enviornment in which women and their families are empowered with the knowledge and avaible resorces that will enable them to make informed and educated decisions concerning their breast health care options.

The best way to find breast cancer early is with a mammogram. If you are a woman age 40 years or older, be sure to have a screening mammogram every one to two years.

Is breast cancer the most common cause of death for women?

No. Although many women get breast cancer, it is not a common cause of death. Heart disease is the number one cause of death among women age 40 and above, followed by stroke, lung cancer, and lung diseases. Breast cancer is the fifth leading cause of death.

Each year, about 210,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer. Many fewer women, around 40,000 each year, die from breast cancer
